From a young shooter's first BB gun to sophisticated air rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders, pistols, and rifles, the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program offers family fun and enjoyment that can last a lifetime.
Qualification shooting is an informal, year-round recreational shooting activity that provides incentive awards for developing and improving marksmanship skills. It's a drill. NRA set the standards; you meet the challenge! Progression is self-paced and scores are challenging but attainable. Performance is measured against established par scores and any shooter who meets or exceeds those scores is entitled to the corresponding recognition awards for that rating. Trigger Action will help you keep score and verify your rating.
Shooters acquire the large Pistol discipline patch at the onset of the program and as each rating is earned, they are entitled to all of the corresponding awards for the Pistol rating. Each rating level has a skill rocker, medal, and certificate award that recognizes and highlights the achievement.
The courses of fire in the Pistol Qualification Program are designed to take shooters from beginning skill levels (Pro-Marksman, Marksman) through intermediate levels (Marksman 1st Class, Sharpshooter, Expert) up to a nationally recognized skill level -- Distinguished Expert -- the pinnacle of the program. By the time a shooter completes the Distinguished Expert rating, he or she has attained a proficiency level paralleling that of a competitively classified Sharpshooter.
Program Goal:
This program is a skill development program. We use the qualification program as a guideline to train new shooters of all ages in the basic skill required for personal protection. An NRA Basic Pistol, Personal Protection or FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation course will provide an excellent foundation of knowledge to build upon. The NRA Basic Pistol Qualification Course provides the perfect self-paced shooting activity to help develop your skills and reward your achievements.
How to Participate Eligibility:
The program is open to everyone-men, women, and youth. Trigger Action, LLC will provide limited instruction to assist you to complete your level.
Location:
The marksman qualification is hosted on Trigger Actions outdoor shooting range during scheduled dates and times. Please note that this range is on private property is only opened during listed times, “This is not a Public Range”. Program Fee:
The program fee is $20 per level attempted. If the level is not completed in one day than it is only $5 each date that you come back to work on that level. If you would like to complete more than one level in one day then each additional level is only $15 within the same date. At the completion of each level, you will be awarded a certificate and the skill rocker for that level. On completing the Marksman level, you will be awarded the Pistol Qualification Patch. There will be an additional $20 fee to receive the Distinguished Expert award package.
Supplies:
Trigger Action, will supply the targets, shooting space, instruction and awards. Ammunition and firearms are to be supplied by the participant. No large caliber pistols like 44 or 357 magnums or any other high power hand guns or ammunition allowed on our range.
Records:
Trigger Action will maintain your qualification records. Participants will received the certificate, rocker and metal for each level completed.
All classes must be paid in full at the time of registration. The registration fee is nonrefundable. If you wish to switch to an alternate class, you must contact Trigger Action, LLC at least one week prior to the date of the classes for which you're registered, and we will try to accommodate your request when possible. We reserve the right, at any time, to cancel an under-subscribed program. In the case of any such cancellation, we will refund the cost of class or offer you the option of rescheduling. Because of age and other restrictions, not all persons will be eligible to participate in this program. Trigger Action, LLC reserves the right to change the program for safety or other reasons, exclude or dismiss any person from the program at any time.
A specific date may be requested, must register two or more students to request a date. I will contact you to final the date and time of the qualification program.
